Donovan Catholic High School, NJ

What you see from the outside a running track can be deceiving. Take Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River, NJ for instance. From a distance, the running track looked fine, but a closer inspection showed water, silt and traffic had led to large areas of delaminated running track.

The Griffins boast a top athletic program, including producing some of the best track and field athletes in the state – and the country. So getting the track back up to speed was a high priority.

ATT Sports canvased the entire track carefully to locate any deficient areas, developed a plan to remove the surfacing in those areas and patch them with new material. We then resurfaced the entire running track, making it like new and working to ensure the delamination issues wouldn’t continue.

We worked closely with the grounds staff of the school to identity not just what was causing the issues, but how to change things away from the surfacing to protect it in the future. The school added drainage, which will protect the track and allow it to perform and last even longer than the initial installation.

This successful project near the Jersey Shore is proof of how to partner with schools to work toward an holistic solution. ATT Sports cannot thank the grounds department and athletics department at Donovan Catholic enough, and we are looking forward to seeing the Griffins continue to produce elite track and field talent for years to come.
