ELCO High School, PA

You’ll never have to guess the school colors for Eastern Lancaster County High School in Central Pennsylvania. The Warriors resurfaced their running track with a bold navy blue and yellow color scheme with the help of ATT Sports in 2023, bringing quite a bit of flair to their stadium.

The track at ELCO perfectly demonstrates the industry tend toward two-colored running tracks, for which three exchange zones are installed using an accent color. In recent years, ATT Sports has installed dozens of two-toned running tracks, using colors from orange to purple to beige, green and different shades of blue.

For the Warriors, “Steel Blue” and “Earth Yellow” was the winning combination of colors, and although the track was simply being resurfaced, stepping up to a new embedded surface allowed for a change to be made in the color scheme. Most running tracks are red due to its UV stability and lower costs, but surfacing manufactures have increased the UV stability of other colors in recent years to make them a better option than ever before. Two-color tracks do come at a higher cost, first for the different colored polyurethane and rubber, but also for the additional time it takes to install. But adding some school pride to your facility can certainly be a worthwhile investment considering the surfacing will last a decade or more.
